Christian music has become extremely popular of late. The music
has become so widespread that some Christian FM radio stations
have come up. The stations are fully dedicated to Christian
music. Those who are not so familiar with this type of music
feel that it's mainly religious music. A group of singers
generally performs the music. But that's not all. Have you heard
of Christian rock? While Christian music is the integral part of
a church service, the Christian rock tends to break away from
that ritual. Christian rock is performed with guitars, drums and
other non-organ instruments. This is a section of Christian
music that has caught the imagination of Christian music lovers.
Just like other music, Christian music has also gone through the
same revolution to become more popular. In fact, modern
Christian music has deviated from its original form, say the
experts. The music has become so contemporary that you won't be
able to differentiate it from other music you listen to
everyday. The Internet has become one of the greatest sources of
Christian music. You will find latest information on Christian
music. You can read reviews of the latest Christian music albums
that have hit the market. Many Christian music sites carry
profiles on Christian artists. So, you can update your knowledge
of Christian music on the Internet. Christian music reviews play
a significant role in shaping up the listeners' response.
Christian music has been carrying out its duty with perfection,
i.e., to spread the word of God. Christian music is an effective
tool to attract people towards Christianity. The music has been
influencing more and more people to explore the Christian
religion. If you are a devoted fan of Christian music, we
suggest you explore sites with music clips. These sites will
give you an idea of what's happening on the Christian music
scene.

Styles of Christian Music-Hiphop,Metal,Punk, rock, and RAP
Title: Styles Of Christian Music - Hiphop,Metal,Punk, rock and RAP
Author: Pandithurai K
Article:
"There are some people God has called to evangelism, and they're
doing a wonderful job, having results. That's great. ... God
wanted us to do something else. So we got into the area of
challenging people, and our ministry basically happens offstage
one-on-one when we talk with people. It's very subtle, but God's
doing a work! It's entertainment, it's fun, its a concert--it's
all those things--but at a subtle, deeper level, it touches
people's hearts" (TERRY TAYLOR OF THE DANIEL AMOS BAND, cited by
Dan and Steve Peters, What about Christian Rock, p. 109).
"I love to hear the music playing slow or fast ... Don't stop,
don't stop the music, play it in your own way. . . . I hear
dissenting voices quick to disagree. But I'm on a music mission;
they don't bother me. I'll sing those songs that set me free.
Cause kids want to rock" (ED DEGARMO AND DANA KEY, "Don't Stop
the Music ," Streetlight, Benson Publications, 1986, p. 24).
"You now have songs about pain and death and divorce and sex and
relationships and everything that every one of us goes through,
whereas at one time contemporary Christian music only talked
about the death and resurrection of Christ. We're much more in
touch with ourselves and our neighbors, which is the whole idea
behind Christ in the first place" (MELISSA HELM OF MYRRH
RECORDS, Music Line magazine, June 1986, p. 4).
In Greebville Seminary Conference on Worship Taylors of South
Carolina said "last thirty years or so have seen the most
dramatic and speedy changes in Protestant worship in any time
since the Reformation. Surely the principal mark and symbol of
that change is the change in the music of the church. The
development of what has come to be called Contemporary Christian
Music (CCM) has become an amazingly widespread phenomenon". Due
to the rise of Pentecostalism there is some dramatic change in
development of CCM. Contemporary Christian Music is pop/rock
version of Christian Music with lyrics based on Christian Faith.
Contemporary Christian Music became more popular in 1980's with
Music of Christian Music Artist Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant.
Millions of copies of there album were sold worldwide. Download
Christian Music Video, Video Tapes, Christian TV Shows,
Christian MTV Shows and Christian Music Videos By 1990's there
were many new Christian Music styles such as Hip hop, metal,
punk and alternative styles of Christian Music.
Christian Music Artists like Lost Dogs, Joy Electric and Star
flyer 59 were against the new styles of Contemporary Christian
Music and they continued to create and compile Original
Christian Music. Due to tunes and melodies of Christian Music
melodies, it is considered as Traditional art. Russian Christian
Music is one of those few music which doesn't use any
instruments in it, It is sang by choir without background music
and Catholic masses in catholic church still perform Bach organ
music which were created long time ago.

Mending a Broken Heart
Author: Kathy Paauw
Article:
Copyright 2006 Kathy Paauw
"Love wasn't put in your heart to stay. Love isn't love until
you give it away." - Michael W. Smith
Heart disease is one of the leading killers in America. You
probably know that lowering cholesterol and blood pressure can
reduce cardiac risk factors. But did you know that the risk of
dying within six months of a heart attack are four times greater
for people who are depressed and lonely?
Valentine's Day 2006 marked the 25th anniversary of my father's
death. When people ask how he died at such an early age (he was
47), I usually say that he died of a broken heart. I attribute
my father's heart disease to the high stress he was under, as
well an unwillingness to honor his own needs for self-care. (His
diet was terrible and he did not exercise much.) In addition, my
parents had just divorced and my father was very lonely.
It's ironic that my father died of a heart attack on February 14
-- the day that we plaster hearts all over everything as a way
to recognize those we love. His parting gift to me and my
siblings was a homemade valentine ... a hand-written note
scrawled on the back of a used envelope found at his hospital
bedside in the Intensive Care Unit. Apparently he sensed that
his hours were numbered, and in his heavily-medicated state, he
was able to leave us with his final wishes that we experience
love, joy, and peace.
Dr. Dean Ornish, a Clinical Professor of Medicine at UCSF and
author of the book, Love and Survival, tells us that "medicine
today focuses primarily on drugs and surgery, genes and germs,
microbes and molecules. Yet love and intimacy are at the root of
what makes us sick and what makes us well. Connections with
other people affect not only the quality of our lives but also
our survival. Study after study finds that people who feel
lonely are many times more likely to get cardiovascular disease
than those who have a strong sense of connection and community."
Lonely people are also much more likely to engage in
self-destructive behaviors, taking refuge in food, drugs,
alcohol or cigarettes. They have nobody else to live for. But
even those who eat right, exercise, and avoid smoking and other
risk factors, are at greater risk for premature death. There's a
lot that medical experts don't completely understand, although
several recent studies have found that the protective effects of
love have a profound effect on heart health. Understanding the
connection between how we live and how long we live can help us
to make better choices.
Ornish suggests that "instead of viewing the time we spend with
friends and family as luxuries, we can see that these
relationships are among the most powerful determinants of our
well-being and survival. We are hard-wired to help each other.
Science is documenting the healing values of love, intimacy,
community, compassion, forgiveness, altruism and service -
values that are part of almost all spiritual traditions as well
as many secular ones."
Last November in my article, Connecting With Each Other, I
shared how lonely and isolated I had become due to several life
events that converged at the same time. I received some very
heartfelt responses from a number of subscribers to this ezine.
Several subscribers - people I've never met or even spoken with
- offered support. I was deeply touched by the caring and
concern that was represented in the responses I received.
I am amazed at how little effort it takes to motivate, uplift,
and make a difference in my own life and in the lives of others
by the simple gesture of sending or receiving a note of
appreciation or encouragement. And in doing so, I feel more
connected.
We all want to be acknowledged for our contributions in this
world - to know that our lives matter in some way -- and we all
want to be treated with respect - at home and at work.
A Gallup Poll conducted in 2004 reported that 65% of Americans
received NO praise or recognition in the workplace in 2003. The
US Department of Labor reports that the number one reason people
leave organizations is that they don't feel appreciated. Their
contributions are not acknowledged. Gallup's study of nearly 5
million employees reveals that increasing the recognition and
praise in an organization can lead to lower turnover, higher
customer loyalty and satisfaction scores, and increases in
overall productivity.
When was the last time you shared expressions of appreciation
and admiration with those you work and live with? Here are a few
ideas of ways you can reach out:
- Pick up the phone and call - thank someone for a good deed, or
just express how much you appreciate them. - Send a hand-written
note. It does not need to be long. It's the thought that counts.
- Invite someone out to a "just because" lunch. - Compliment
someone for something you appreciate about them. - Do something
you know they would appreciate, without being asked to do it.
Where are relationships on your list of priorities?
Rediscovering the wisdom of love and compassion may help us
survive at a time when our hurting world so badly needs it.
